Thick & Thin

Whether I'm big out in Japan
or NYC shouts out my name
love always shown out from France
but it will always remain the same

Couple of bills in my pockets won't change the man I am
fame at my doorstep won't change my state of trance
the one you got me from the beginning of our romance
times we stayed in when there was only dust & lint in my pocket
no food in the fridge, no electricity in our wall sockets
improvising with what we got, yes yes ya'll and we won't stop

No light to takes us to the bedroom, why we always hoped for stormy nights
lightning to guide us to each other, even though it gave you fright
casting shadows to better entertain us, no need for television
no music at the time, that's why we used the pots in the kitchen
played drums on the pots and skillets, you played lead on the spoon
the counter was our stage, in our minds we were gonna be famous soon

On boring days, we would watch each other for hours
lookin' at every detail that set us apart from others
love that blemish that's on your right cheek
looks like a lock, is my kiss gonna be the right key?
you would cry with the problems that would rush in
flooded your head with emotions, second guessin' of our love then
I would always promise you our time will come
money would be nothing to us, we will shine, forget the sun

I will shower you and drown you in nothing but the finest
Louis on your feet, Chanel on your skin, Tiffany on your wrist
Dior on your silhouette, and champagne on your breath
you deserve it all and nothing less
when I get my money right, I want you to be with

Whether I'm big out in Japan
or NYC shouts out my name
love always shown out from France
but it will always remain the same
